Virtual Museum Project0
For your virtual museum project, you and your partner will choose 2 artists from DIFFERENT genres. You will creat a powerpoint presentation as your artists’ virtual museum. Projects must include:
A) Biographical information about your artist including inspirations and mentor artists (if any) – 2 slides minimum
B) Preferred medium (oil on canvas, watercolors, pastels, etc.)
C) Most impressive or important work created during his/her lifetime and why it was viewed as such
D) A Series of at least 10 different works from this artist with your opinions and critiques of each.
E) For one of the 10 works you choose, demonstrate how this work fits the genre – what are the characteristics evident in the work?
F) TRANSITION – To transition to the next artist, after stating the biographic information from requirement A, compare and contrast the 2 genres represented and how the artists view their works differently. What are the most striking differences? Did one artist influence the other? How are they similar? Proceed with requirements B-E.
G) Sources cited – at least 3 different sources must be used (cite on last slide)
H) Presentation – all text must be in your most beautiful French and presentations will be done in class Tuesday January 20th (entirely in French). Each student must ask a minimum of 3 questions to any group member, except his or her own group member. You may burn your project to a CD or upload it to your blog (I’ll teach you how to change your powerpoint file to video to be able to upload; you may add music as well).

Neo-Classicisme et Romanticisme0
Bonjour mes étudiants et bienvenue à une nouvelle semaine et un nouveau genre de l’art français! Cette semaine, nous allons considérer le style d’art pendant la période de Romanticisme. Je veux que vous fassiez la comparison entre le Romanticisme et le Néo-Classicisme SUR VOS BLOGS PERSONELS. Pensez à ces choses suivantes :
D’abord, étudiez attentivement ces deux ouevres : la peinture de Jacques-Louis David de Napoléon Bonaparte qui s’appelle Napoléon dans son étude, et la peinture de Eugène Delacroix, la Chasse aux Lions. Qu’est-ce que vous pensez de ces deux oeuvres ? Donnez vos opinions.
Puis, faites une comparison. Ils sont très differents. Comment ? Quels sont les thèmes présents dans les peintures ? Quel était le but de l’artiste en produisant le tableau ? Quelles sont les caractéristiques de chaque genre qui sont évidentes dans les peintiures ?
Enfin, choisissez une autre peinture du genre Romanticisme. Ecrivez une histoire au sujet de la peinture. Qui sont les personnages dans la peinture ? Qu’est-ce qu’ils font ? Qu’est-ce qu’ils pensent ? Qu’est-ce qu’ils disent ? Qu’est-ce qui se passe dans la scène ? Ecrivez au moins dix phrases.
